The idea that our inner world—our thoughts, emotions, and consciousness—shapes and is reflected in the outer world we perceive and experience is not a new concept. Nor is the idea of “As above, so below” whereby what happens on a grand cosmic scale is reflected in the personal or material realm.

The above is a cornerstone in many esoteric traditions, mysticism, and metaphysical philosophies.

Carl Jung had another take with regard to ‘the shadow’. As in emotions that are left unprocessed in our psyche or beliefs swallowed whole and unprocessed, become part of our unconscious process, and we seek others to heal.

One issue is that humans become identified with such ego structures or ‘persona, the mask,’ and become empty husks devoid of inner light.

Unfortunately, most times, we end up blaming or accusing others of what we won’t acknowledge in ourselves. This becomes a source of conflict between coworkers, family, and even countries.

As humans, this is a huge challenge which we somehow need to remedy. How can we possibly do something we may easily be unaware of?

There is only one road, we need to look inwards and bravely explore and accept our inconsistencies of personality. In the process, we stand a good chance of once more reconnecting with our hearts
